Heidi Koers, 1976 Haarlem, creating a work of art for me is like drawing with a needle and thread. By playing with different stitches, thick and thin threads, shadows and relief are created. The end threads that remain hanging give a dramatic effect and together form the movement and fantasy of the project. For my work I mainly get my inspiration from: textile qualities & textures, composition play, color combinations, fashion and fashion photography where I sometimes use myself as a model. Playing with all these elements together is a start for a new project that continually creates itself.
